Left Hijacking Politics – One Protest at a Time

Swell! The Left found yet another reason to clutter our streets with protesters! “Thousands” were reported venting their (manufactured) outrage that President Trump hasn’t released his tax returns.
And Maxine Waters (a real paragon of political sanity!) wants Trump impeached because… gasp… she doesn’t trust him! (Would that be a “High Crime” or a “Misdemeanor”?)
In response, President Trump Tweeted, “Someone should look into who paid for the small organized rallies yesterday. The election is over!” (He’s challenging the Press, which actually used to do just such investigative reporting.)
I thought the Rachel MadCow incident put this whole faux tax “issue” to bed. After fanning imaginary flames for twenty minutes, intimating the unveiling of Trump’s tax returns would prove conclusively that, not only was he in league with the Devil, he actually owned the Devil, MadCow’s “revelation” simply proved that Trump paid a ton in taxes in 2005 – far more in dollars and percentage than the Clintons, Obamas, Shumer, Pelosi or Jokin’ Joe Biden!
To borrow an old advertising phrase: Where’s the Beef?
Journalist Guy Benson astutely noted that Trump could justifiably quote Hillary to ask the Loony Left: “What difference, at this point, does it make?”
Think “Loony” is over-the-top? Consider the New York Times reporting about a father who traveled with his family to join in a “Tax Day Protest.” The Dad is quoted as having made the trip, in part, to “…help the couple’s 12-year-old son, James, cope with the stress he has felt since Mr. Trump’s election.”
Right. A 12-year-old boy actually cares who is President. (No doubt that’s the reason he’s having trouble hitting a curve ball. Parental stresses would have nothing to do with it.) Thank you, NYT, for your rational, reasonable coverage of the nation’s most pressing political issues.
Honestly, Loonies: What is the point? What do you hope to find in Trump’s taxes? He made a lot of money. He paid a boatload of taxes. So what? Likely he had big-time charitable donations. You got a problem with charity?
He makes hotels and golf courses, and… Surprise!… that is hugely profitable.
(And by the way, there’s a lot of unused land in Russia, and not many nice hotels and golf courses. Maybe he has a reason to poke around a bit in Russia. So what?)
You think there is anything in Trump’s tax returns that would rival the known facts that Hillary Clinton’s foundation and family took in millions from Russian bigwigs, and Clinton cronies made millions on corporate takeovers while Russia captured 20% of America’s uranium resources via corporate buyouts approved by Hillary Clinton’s State Department as being in the interests of our national security?
You think golf courses and hotels rise to that level of significance?
But there are two objections that are never properly addressed. So let’s do that:
- Trump says he won’t release his returns because he’s under IRS audit. But the IRS says that doesn’t preclude his releasing those returns. So why doesn’t he release them?
Answer: His attorneys advise against it. You think Trump is stupid enough ignore his attorneys? The IRS isn’t the problem; it’s the grief people can cause Trump, rightly or wrongly, with all the details of his complex financial life. It’s just not worth the hassles if it’s not required. And it’s not required of Presidents or candidates; and Trump was elected without releasing them! The Public (save the Lefty Loonies) doesn’t really care that much. Sure, they’ll answer pollsters that he oughta release them – because they’re sick of hearing about it!
- The natural presumption, stoked to the nth degree by the Left, is that Trump hasn’t released his returns because he’s got something to hide. What’s he hiding?
Answer: His entire working life! It’s called “privacy,” and most rich people crave it, with good reason. Remember, Trump was never a political figure before, and his taxes and his entire family’s finances are interwoven. In protecting his own privacy, he is also protecting his family’s privacy. The notion that there must be something nefarious hidden in his returns is just silly. I wouldn’t release mine, either, and there’s barely a farthing in there to fret about.
Here’s the truth about all of this: The Left actually has absolutely no idea whether there’s anything dastardly, or Russian-ly, or even remotely suspect, to be found in Trump’s taxes. They hope there is, but it really doesn’t matter. They’re gonna find something to scream about, to march and protest about, to Holier-Than-Thou about, because that’s what the Loony Left does.
Think I’m wrong about that? I refer you back to Rachel MadCow’s twenty-minute tirade about… absolutely nothing!
The truth is, the so-called “Progressive” extreme-Left has hijacked the Democrat Party; and they are so intellectually bankrupt, so politically pugnacious that they really don’t care what they’re protesting about. The point is the protest. They want to own the Government, and they figure the way to do that is to create such moral outrage about… anything and everything, that no one would dare to vote against them, or challenge them, or (God forbid… except “there is no God”!) win an election against them!
Occupy Wall Street. Black Lives Matter. The “Pussyhat” Project. Trump Tax Day.
Any excuse for a protest. And Shumer, Pelosi, the DNC and the Lamestream Media all hitch a ride on those long, dragging coattails.
I call it “Government by Outrage.” And it is, indeed, an outrage.
Personally I think that approach disqualifies them from governing. As an Independent, I would never support a Party that behaves so intemperately, so indiscriminately, so unreasonably.
As a reasonable Citizen, I hope you wouldn’t, either.
