The Road to Tyranny by Don Jans

Legislative Alert | Warning – Sacramento Bill will give Governor Access to Names and Addresses of Recall Petition Signers

Per Election Integrity Project’s clip attached, on Monday 4/12, CA Senate Committee on Election will do public hearing on SB663 which will provide Gavin with names and addresses of voters who signed RecallGavin petitions.

It is a total violation of Election Integrity that our votes are sacred and confidential. By providing the info to Gavin, it also allow his supporters to harass people who signed for the recall.

Please use this link to find your CA Senator.
And write/call them on Monday that you STRONGLY OPPOSE SB663

    BILL TO ADDRESS:

SB 663 – Elections: Recall Petitions – would allow targets of recall petitions to be provided with the names, addresses, etc. of everyone who signed a petition so they and their operatives can contact individuals through phone calls, snail mail and other means to try to get them to change their mind and withdraw their signature. EIPCa STRONGLY OPPOSES this bill because of the breach of voter privacy and the potential for voter harassment.  Read our letter of opposition HERE.

Thursday, April 15, 10:30 AM—Assembly Committee on Elections
Call in information not posted yet Check https://aelc.assembly.ca.gov/hearings for updates

    BILLS TO ADDRESS:
1 AB 53 – Election Day Holiday – would cause Election Day in even numbered years to be a state-sanctioned holiday. It would replace Presidents Day in those years.  EIPCa OPPOSES this bill because it is unnecessary, and disrespectful to our great presidents Washington and Lincoln. Read our letter of opposition HERE.

2 AB 728 – County Voter Information Guides – would require Voter Information Guides be mailed to voters 29 days before Election day instead of 10.  EIPCa SUPPORTS this bill because voters should receive important voting information at the same time they receive their ballot. Read our letter of support HERE.

3 AB 319 – Political Reform Act of 1974 (amendment) – This bill would empower the Fair Political Practices Commission to enforce existing prohibitions on foreign campaign contributions. EIPCa SUPPORTS this bill because stronger enforcement against foreign interference in our elections is needed. Read our letter of support HERE.

4 AB 37—Elections: Vote by Mail Ballots – This bill would require vote by mail ballots to be sent to every registered voter in the state for ALL future elections.  EIPCa OPPOSES this bill because of the chaotic condition of California’s voter rolls, and because its wording opens the doors to ballots being sent to inactive voters. Our letter of opposition will be posted on our website in a day or two. Please check back.
