Libertarian Party of Ventura County presents “Getting Libertarians Elected and Re-Elected to Office” October 23rd
Kathleen O’Brien
Kathleen O’Brien, member of the Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District Board of Directors and Events Committee Chair of the LPVC will be the special guest speaker at the quarterly business/dinner meeting on Tuesday, Ottavio’s Italian Restaurant, 1620 Ventura Blvd, Camarillo. Dinner is $26 per person.
In 2000, Kate won a seat on the Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District Board of Directors by three votes, the closest election in the history of Ventura County at that time, against an appointed incumbent and a fellow whose political consultant father spent $20k+ to get him elected.
She was reelected in 2004 against 2 challengers and came in first with the highest vote total in the history of the Park District.
Since winning her first election, Kate has been re-elected every election year. She is the longest serving elected Libertarian in Ventura County.
