Lies, Damn Lies… and ObamaCare

tadalafil times;”>EditorialBy Phil Erwin

pill times;”>Professor Jonathan Gruber, link of MIT and Romneycare credentials and a paid White House consultant/shill for ObamaCare, knows the truth about the real America.

They’re “too stupid,” says the Professor, to discern “tax” from “penalty.” “Too stupid” to know that they pay for a tax on Cadillac plans whether that tax is assessed on their policy or the company that sells it. “Too stupid” to know what’s good for them, their neighbors, their children or their country.

Professor Jonathan Gruber of MIT speaking about the Stupid American Electorate:

You don’t believe me? Here are the Professor’s own words from the video above (with my emphasis):

“[ObamaCare] was written in a tortured way to make sure the CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies… If you had a law which said that healthy people are going to pay in… and sick people get money, it would not have passed. Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage, [and] the stupidity of the American voter… was really, really critical for the thing to pass.”

So. Just how stupid do you feel?

Pretty dang stupid, I suspect, if you’re a centrist-trending Democrat who actually believed that ObamaCare was a great thing, a crowning achievement in the tenure of Obama and crew.

Now you know what your President and his Progressive minions actually think of you. Too stupid to know what’s good for you. Too stupid to know when you’re being lied to. And defrauded. And cheated. And boxed in politically and economically, in such a way that your progeny will never ever know what true freedom is like.

I single out “centrist” Democrats because I think they actually bought the Progressive claptrap about ObamaCare, and truly thought it would be good for the country. Progressives – Liberals with no grounding whatsoever in American sensibilities – may or may not have believed it, but they don’t actually care what’s good for the country. All they want is to change it. Somehow. So that it isn’t America anymore. So it’s more like a huge satellite of Europe, with the entire middle of the country living under a Cone of Silence. That would suit most residents of New York, D.C., San Francisco and Seattle just fine. They might cut out a blowhole for Denver, but otherwise, they don’t want to hear from the sheep that live “out there.”

Make that the stupid sheep.

And that is why Professor Gruber was so blatantly self-congratulatory in explaining to audiences how “they” (the ObamaCare champions – Progressives, the White House, and every Democrat legislator marching to the beat of Obama, Pelosi and Reid) had pulled the wool over the nation’s eyes; had sold the nation a bill of goods by blatant and intentional fraud and deceit.

Proud accomplishment indeed, Professor. Way to go.

But “centrist” Democrats no doubt thought that their party had accomplished something valuable and lasting for the nation, despite all the nay-saying, objecting and pleading of the Conservative half of the country. I think they were expecting that those silly Republicans were going to find out just how wrong they were; that over time, they’d come around to seeing the truth of things; to appreciating just how much benefit the country would get from ObamaCare .

It never occurred to them that the Conservatives were the ones championing the real Truth; they it was they who had it right, who understood what was happening, and what was going to happen. Republicans knew all along that ObamaCare was a bill of goods; that the pious protestations of how great it would be were, to borrow from Mark Twain, nothing but “lies, damn lies and statistics” couched in marketing cleverness.

Think I’m not being fair? Go count up the total of Republican votes in favor of passing ObamaCare, and compare that to the total number of Democrats.

Then ask yourself: When “Professor” Gruber says, “We had to lie to them, to get them to pass the bill; it would never have passed if we’d told them the truth” – who is the them he is referring to? Who bought all the lies – The 280 Democratic Senators and Congressmen who voted to pass the bill, or the zero Republican legislators who voted in favor of it?

As Steve Hayes, columnist for The Weekly Standard, says: “What’s remarkable is not [Gruber’s] admission, but that this is another case of the ObamaCare supporters admitting that the Conservative critics were right all along!”

Who were the wiser – Liberals who believed Gruber’s claptrap, or Conservatives who demand their representatives demolish the ObamaCare monstrosity, before it demolishes the nation?

Tom-Hanks-300x234When Gruber says that Americans are too stupid to know what’s good for them, which half of America is he referring to?

To quote that genius philosopher of celluloid fame, Forest Gump: “Stupid is, as stupid does.”

Wise up, centrist Democrats. Pick a better party. The one you’ve sold your soul to doesn’t give a damn about your country. Or about you. And certainly, not about the Truth.

All they care about is your vote.
