Local Bakery participates in Kari Feinstein’s Academy Awards style lounge

Westlake Village residents, Ashley Guerrero and Kati Angelini hung out their “We’re Open” sign on the worldwide web and made their love of baking into a business. They operate without a storefront, instead catering events and filling online orders. Both of these best friends were influenced in the culinary arts by family members. Ashley, an artist, learned from her “Nonna” – grandmother in Italian. Kati traveled the world, working from paycheck to paycheck. She visited exotic locales in Egypt, Greece, Turkey and found her dream in Dublin Ireland at the Cake Café. With its eclectic garden, mismatched teacups and delicious food she knew this is what she wanted to do. Like her friend, Katie was schooled in the art of cooking by someone she loved, her father, a native of Rome who later bought a home in the hillsides of Italy.
These two friends stepped out on a culinary limb and opened Kneady Bakery: www.kneadybakery.com The pair personally oversee the making of each delight offered in their online catalog. “We are just two nerdy girls who love baking,” says Guerrero. “For now, we’re just a small start-up but we have big plans. We are working towards fulfilling our goal of opening a gourmet dessert café.”
“Our dream is to serve fresh and unique dessert dishes, with a cinema screening room for private parties,” adds Angelini. “We want it to have an old fashion movie-house feel, but instead of stale popcorn and old boxed candies, we’ll have Baked S’Mores Bars, Macaroons, and fresh Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies with ice-cold milk.”
This year they’ve been tapped to participate in the Academy Awards Style Lounge at the Andaz Hotel on February 27 and 28, 2014. Kari Feinstein’s Style Lounge will serve as the premiere destination prior to the 2014 Academy Awards for nominees, presenters, trend-setters, and celebrities, where they will be treated to fashion’s
finest, beauty’s best, and life’s luxuries before the big show. Celebrities and their stylists will be attending the two-day event generating media attention while also raising awareness for charities. Kneady Bakery will be offering their baked goods at the event.
Kneady Bakery does On-Set Catering, Private Celebrity Events and Fundraisers. They have donated their baked treats to several different charities and fundraisers including TOYS FOR TOTS and the ENTERTAINMENT AIDS ALLIANCE. Their next philanthropic dessert destination is an upcoming fundraiser for ALEX’S LEMONADE STAND.
To ensure freshness, they deliver their desserts only in Ventura and Los Angeles counties and to the cities along the coast. Gluten-free and vegan items are offered alongside anything you might be craving. If they haven’t invented it yet, just ask.
Visit them on the web: www.kneadybakery.com.

Not bad for two best friends from Westlake Village.
