Local Business – Kneady Bakery to Participate in Pre-Emmy Awards Gift Suite
Locally-owned Kneady Bakery will once again participate in a pre-awards gift suite at the Luxe Hotel in Beverly Hills on September 15 – 17, 2016. Celebrities will be attending the three-day event the week of the Emmy’s, generating media attention while also raising awareness for charities. This is the second year that Kneady Bakery will be offering gift bags to take home as well as tasty bites on the run, at the event. The event is presented by Dubois Pelin and Associates (DPA), the world number one global brand execution platform.
Kneady Bakery is a tiny, barely profitable company that has squeezed its way into the Industry. Founded by Ashley Guerrero and Kati Angelini, who personally oversee the baking of each product, they have found a way to merge their pop-culture obsession with a love of creative baking. Still broke and lacking a good credit rating, the two donate to charity for every dozen sold.
“We are lucky to be able to live in a country where two young women in their early 20’s can wake up one day with an idea, quit their soul-sucking day jobs to start a business, and make it grow into something they can be proud of,” says Guererro. “We aim for something that makes people happy, and makes them laugh, and makes them nostalgic for their favorite movies, and makes them sick from eating too many Lord VoldeS’Mores (which we are not liable for . . .)”

Angelini takes up the thread, “So we thought, what if we took a page out of the Supernatural Family and Zachary Levi’s book, and merged our fandoms with a way to give back?” Their solution was simple: donate $1 of each dozen treats ordered to the favorite charity of that treat’s fandom. For instance: for each dozen of Rice Krispin Glovers “The Snack to the Future™” ordered, $1 is donated to the Michael J. Fox foundation. (#EatYourFandom for those #inKNEAD)
Kneady Bakery does conventions like NerdHQ and Comic Con, along with On-Set Catering, after parties, and Private Celebrity Events and Fundraisers. They specially-market gift boxes for events such as the upcoming Game Day, a worldwide celebration of the social impact of gamers of all kinds – from video games to board games – to raise money for charities. Since 2008, the event has raised more than $22 million to help children’s hospitals provide critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment, research and charitable care. Their own team for the day, the O-Kneaders will raise money for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, as will each box ordered by gamers to eat during the 25-hour gaming marathon.

Other upcoming events include “Tolkien Week” September 18- 25, where they will be creating their special Elven Breads, and Wookie Day at Disneyland on December 5, when you can order a box of their famous Chocolate Chip Wookies, which they claim are “extra Chewie”.
“You don’t have to be a nerd to love our Robert Brownie, Jr’s or Game of Scones,” says Guererro. “You just have to like delicious baked goods.”

Devotees can only purchase through the online catalogue, but their desserts are delivered in Ventura and Los Angeles counties and to the cities along the coast. Their gift boxes are often found on the desks of Hollywood’s hardest working executives and creatives. They provide personal catering for VIP parties and special events and occasions with past events including book signings, music releases and theatre openings. Gluten free items are offered alongside anything you might be craving. If they haven’t invented it yet, it might be time.
