Local Leaders Support United States Naval Officer Mike Garcia for Congress

After just two months since announcing his candidacy for California’s 25th Congressional District, former Navy fighter pilot Mike Garcia has earned the support of local leaders across the district. Joining former Congressmen Buck McKeon and Elton Gallegly in endorsing Mike Garcia for Congress are officials from across the Santa Clarita, Simi, and Antelope Valleys.

“I am deeply humbled by the support we have received after such a short time since getting into the race and our work is only beginning,” Garcia said. “Our message of serving as a citizen legislator to fight for the district is resonating all over and is a stark contrast to Katie Hill who proudly calls Nancy Pelosi her hero, supports the Socialist agenda of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Governor Newsom.”

Announcing his support of Garcia, Former Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon said:
“I’ve known Mike for 25 years. It was my honor to nominate him for the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1994. He served our country on the battlefield and he’ll serve us again in Congress.”

    Former Congressman Elton Gallegly:
“I’m delighted that we have a well-rounded field of candidates in the primary campaign for the 25th congressional seat.  This is a district that I represented for over 25 years and I know it well.  After careful review I feel that Mike Garcia is the best prepared candidate.  He is a fighter and a leader with a life experience that will serve the 25th Congressional district at a critical time in the history of our nation.”

Santa Clarita City Councilman Bob Kellar:
“Our nation needs more leaders who know the sacrifice of serving their country. Leaders who will represent California and fight against the Democrat’s socialist agenda. That leader is Mike Garcia. We need him fighting for us in Washington.”

Simi Valley City Councilman Mike Judge:
“Mike Garcia knows service over self. As a former Naval Officer and combat fighter pilot who flew missions over Baghdad and Fallujah, he has witnessed first-hand the strength of this country at home and abroad. Mike Garcia will honorably represent us in Washington and I’m proud to endorse him.”

Simi Valley City Councilwoman Elaine Litster:
“I support Mike Garcia for US Congress for many different reasons.  He shares the traditional core values I believe in, including Family, Country, and Freedom.  Mike is an intelligent, dedicated father and husband, and a small business owner.  With his outstanding Naval career, Mike understands the need for a strong defense and how best to care for our veterans.  He chose to run for office because he truly understands the needs of our Community, our State and our Country.  Mike is a principled man of action.”

    Additional Endorsements Include:
Keith Mashburn, Mayor, City of Simi Valley
B.J. Atkins, Santa Clarita Valley Water Board Director
Bill Cooper, Santa Clarita Valley Water Board President
Yvonne Farris, Former President of Ventura County Board of Education
Gary Martin, Santa Clarita Valley Water Board Vice President
Joe Messina, William S. Hart School District Board Member
Nancy Smith, Palmdale School District Board Member and Retired Superintendent

California Congressional District 25 includes parts of northern Los Angeles County and part of eastern Ventura County. It includes the cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster, and the northern part of the San Fernando Valley.
