Local Stars to Represent the Santa Paula Art Museum in Salsa Festival

The Santa Paula Art Museum is thrilled to be included in the 2016 Oxnard Salsa Festival’s “Dancing with Our Community Stars” Dance Contest and Charity Fundraiser. Local stars Seana-Marie Sesma and salsero Lovie Hernandez will represent the Museum in the dance competition. In the weeks leading up to the festival, individuals can “vote” for their favorite dance duo by making a donation to the dancers’ chosen charity. All donations received by the Santa Paula Art Museum will benefit its ArtSPARK education program, which serves thousands of local students each year. The community can also show their support by attending a unique series of upcoming events.

The Museum will kick off the contest with a special “Rhythm of Art” event to be held at the Museum on Friday, June 24, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Guests can browse a pop-up art exhibition and sale while indulging in delicious salsa and wine tastings. Plus, enjoy a salsa dancing demonstration by our contestants! Admission is free.

The “Rhythm of Art Craft Night” will be held at Petunia’s Buttons and Crafts on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This creation party will include buttons, notions, wine, and friends. Admission is $20.00 per person, and includes the craft project, two glasses of wine, and treats. Petunia’s Buttons and Crafts is located at 948 E. Main Street in downtown Santa Paula.

Salsero Lovie Hernandez will host the “Rhythm of Art Dance Night” on Saturday, July 16, 2016, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Lovie’s Latin Studio. Guests will enjoy a taste of salsa, wine, and salsa dancing. Hernandez will lead a salsa dance lesson followed by a night of social dancing. Admission is $20.00 per person. Lovie’s Latin Studio is located at 106 N. 10th Street in downtown Santa Paula.
