Lopez sentenced to 12 years for Santa Paula Robbery
On Tuesday, January 3, 2017 concluded the sentencing phase in the trial of Adrian Lopez, now age 19 of Santa Paula. Lopez pled guilty to robbery and was sentenced to 12 years in state prison. Lopez is required to serve at leave 85% of that time or 10 years and 2 months.

On Friday, December 2, 2016 concluded the preliminary court proceedings for suspects Adrian Lopez (left photo), now age 19 of Santa Paula, and Mark Anaya, now age 20 of Santa Paula. Both suspects pled guilty to different crimes. Lopez pled guilty to robbery and is due to be sentenced on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Anaya pled guilty to assault with a deadly weapon. Anaya was sentenced to one year jail time and three years probation. Anaya has already served his sentence and is currently not in custody.

On Monday, February 1, 2016 at approximately 6:43pm officers responded to the 400 block of Ojai Road for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim who informed him he had just been beaten and robbed. The victim described the two suspects, Adrian Lopez age 18 of Santa Paula and Mark Anaya age 19 of Santa Paula, drive up in a white truck. Both suspects then exited the truck, approached the victim and began hitting him repeatedly. Eventually the victim fell to the ground where he was still being hit and kicked in the head. While on the ground the victim dropped some personal effects which were taken by the suspects who then fled the scene in the truck. Through investigation the identity of the suspects were determined. Both suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 during separate contacts. It should be noted Adrian Lopez had just been released from county jail for serving a suspended sentence on the charge of 211 PC – Robbery the day prior to the incident, January 31, 2016. After being processed both suspects were transported to Ventura County Main Jail for 211 PC -Robbery and 245 PC – Assault with a deadly weapon.
