VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Jonathan Lucero (DOB 10/02/02), and Prissilla Estrada (DOB 07/07/01), both of Los Angeles, were charged with carjacking and related crimes after their arrest with two other suspects on November 30, 2021.

On November 30, 2021, at approximately 1:10 a.m., the victim was sitting in his vehicle, parked in front of his Thousand Oaks home. Two males approached his vehicle, ordered him out, and drove off with the vehicle. The victim immediately called police.

Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies were in the area on another call and quickly located the victim’s vehicle, which was being driven by Lucero. A second involved vehicle was located shortly after, which contained Estrada, a juvenile male suspect, and another adult female, Michelle Lopez, who has not been charged with the carjacking. Property belonging to the victim was found in this second vehicle, as well as in Lucero’s possession at the time of his arrest.

Lucero and Estrada were each charged with carjacking and conspiracy to commit carjacking. In a separate case committed on November 27, 2021, Lucero and Lopez are charged with 10 counts of vehicle burglary and 11 counts of conspiracy to commit theft. All defendants have pled not guilty. The cases are set for an early disposition conference on December 13, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Both Lucero and Estrada are currently in custody with bail set at $250,000. The male juvenile was booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Facility.
