    Maintaining a Drug House Investigation Nets Suspects

    During the month of January, 2021, the Oxnard Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) began an investigation into narcotics activity occurring at a residence located in the 400 block of North Ventura Road. During the investigation, detectives identified Alejandro Galvan as the primary resident. DEU Detectives developed enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for maintaining and operating a drug house.

    On February 3, 2021, with the assistance of the Oxnard SWAT team, Oxnard K9 Unit, and Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, DEU Detectives served a search warrant at the residence. During the service of the search warrant, six people were detained.  

    DEU detectives responded to the residence after all of the subjects were detained to complete the investigation. During the investigation, detectives located fentanyl, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia throughout the residence, and ammunition. Upon completion of the initial investigation, Galvan was arrested for misdemeanor narcotics violations. Christopher Johnson was arrested for a misdemeanor narcotics related warrant. Danice Hernandez was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant and misdemeanor possession of narcotics. Vanessa Velez was arrested for misdemeanor possession of narcotics.

                                           Danice Hernandez, 27 year old Oxnard resident

                                           Vanessa Velez, 39 year old Oxnard resident
