Man arrested after threatening Oxnard Code Compliance officer
link arial, ailment sans-serif;”>On July 7th, Tuesday, officials from the City of Oxnard Code Compliance Office, with the assistance of Traffic Service Assistants from the Oxnard Police Department, were conducting enforcement operations in the 1100 block of Entrada Drive regarding illegally parked vehicles and trailers. The owner of one of the vehicles being towed, Nigel Hawthorne-Samuels, made several threatening statements that he would shoot anyone who touched his trailer. Officers from the Oxnard Police Department were called to assist. Hawthorne-Samuels fled into his residence when officers arrived. Phone contact was made with Hawthorne-Samuels and he voluntarily came out of the residence where he was taken into custody without incident. Hawthorne-Samuels was arrested for making criminal threats and an outstanding felony warrant.
During the incident Brekke Elementary School was placed on lock down for precautionary measures to keep students on campus during the incident.
During a search of the residence, a male adult unrelated to the incident was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
