Man Found Guilty of 2018 Gas Station Robbery Spree Throughout Ventura County

A jury found Andre Lamont Ingram (DOB 05/26/86) guilty of four felony counts of second-degree robbery. Ingram was convicted of robbing four gas stations across Ventura County over a two-week period.

On July 29, 2018, at 9:20 p.m. Ingram entered a Shell Gas station in Ventura wearing dark clothing, gloves, and a mask. He brandished a firearm at the store clerk demanding money from the registers. The clerk opened the two registers, and Ingram fled the scene with cash and the clerk’s cell phone.

On August 1, 2018, at 9:55 p.m., Ingram ran into a Shell Gas station in Camarillo armed with the same firearm and wearing the same clothing and mask. He demanded money from the registers at gunpoint and fled the scene with the cash drawer.

On August 3, 2018, at 11:20 p.m., Ingram ran into a Mobil Gas station in Thousand Oaks armed with the same firearm and wearing the same clothing and mask. He ordered the clerk to hand over the clerk’s wallet and cell phone. Ingram also ordered the clerk to open the registers and safe. Ingram fled the scene with the clerk’s wallet, phone, cash from the registers, and a box containing the rest of the cash in the store.

On August 9, 2018, at 12:55 a.m., Ingram entered a 7-Eleven convenience store in Oxnard.  He was wearing the mask, similar clothing and carrying the same firearm as in the other robberies. Ingram again demanded the clerk open the registers and hand over his cell phone and wallet. He fled the scene with the clerk’s cell phone and cash from the registers.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office conducted a thorough investigation by seeking search warrants to obtain electronic cell phone information. These records placed Ingram’s cell phone at the scene of each of the robberies. Ingram also conducted several internet searches for information about all four robberies after they had been committed. When Ingram was arrested for unrelated charges on August 10, 2018, officers located several items from the robberies, including an imitation firearm.

Sentencing is scheduled January 15, 2020, at 8:30 a.m. in courtroom 45 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Ingram faces a maximum sentence of eight years in prison.
