Man Sentenced in Oxnard Stabbing Death

George Edward Malone, Jr. (DOB 7/20/68), of Oxnard, was sentenced to 24 years 4 months in state prison for the death of Paul Blevins, Jr., also of Oxnard. On November 10, 2020, Malone pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and admitted an allegation that he personally used a knife in the commission of the offense. Malone also pled guilty to unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle, and that he had suffered a prior serious felony conviction.

On October 27, 2015, Malone and Mr. Blevins got into an argument at the Budget Gardens Motel in Oxnard shortly before 2:00 a.m. The argument ended with Malone stabbing Mr. Blevins two times with a kitchen knife. Mr. Blevins was taken to the Ventura County Medical Center, where he died several hours later. The case was investigated by the Oxnard Police Department.
