Master Gardeners of Ventura County: It’s Time to Think About Growing Summer Vegetables!

Spring is the time to start planning your summer vegetable garden. Join Master Gardeners of Ventura County and learn what to plant when and how.

There’s still time to register for the Growing Summer Vegetables workshop offered by the Master Gardeners of Ventura County.

This is shaping up to be the best growing season in years, so come along and learn how to get the most out of your garden.

The workshop is Saturday, March 25 at the Hansen Research Center in Santa Paula.

What: Growing Summer Vegetables

When: Saturday, March 25, 2017

Time: 9 am until noon (check-in 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.) 

Where: Hansen Agricultural Research and Extension Center (HAREC), 14292 West Telegraph Road, Santa Paula (enter from Briggs Road)

Cost: $20

Requirement: Closed-toe shoes
Wear comfortable clothing and bring drinking water.

No walk-ins or on-site payment will be accepted. No exceptions.

You may enjoy planting your own garden and harvest the vegetables, BUT remember that moonbeam is still entrenched in his draconian drought policy(s). You have to ask yourself…..how much water will be required to produce said vegetable garden and are you willing to pay the surcharge(s) that may be a part of State policy.

This comment is not meant to discourage you but you may also compare the cost(s) of water, fertilizer, other soil amendments, and don’t forget your hourly wage, when determining if growing your own vegetables is economical compared to just going to the market and buy them.
