OXNARD, Calif. – Mayor John C. Zaragoza will present his first annual State of the City address at a virtual event hosted by the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 1 p.m.
“While we have endured many challenges over the past year, I am excited for the future of Oxnard,” said Mayor Zaragoza. “Thanks to the voters’ approval of Measure E, we will have our first positive budget in more than a decade. We are beginning our first year of restoring many services that our community needs and deserves. Together with my City Council colleagues, we established our 5-year priorities, which provide a roadmap for continued progress.”The State of the City address will reflect on the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and also highlight how City staff supported the Oxnard community during times of need. The Mayor will also discuss Measure E, the City Council 5-Year Priorities, the new Amazon facility, updates regarding the Sakioka Business Park, and other business news.”The State of the City report is particularly important this year because all the changes Oxnard has been through in the last 12 months. El alcalde John C. Zaragoza presentará el discurso virtual del estado de la ciudad
OXNARD, Calif. – El alcalde John C. Zaragoza presentará su primer discurso anual sobre el estado de la ciudad en un evento virtual organizado por la Cámara de Comercio de Oxnard el jueves 17 de junio de 2021 a la 1 p.m.
“Si bien hemos soportado muchos desafíos durante el año pasado, estoy emocionado por el futuro de Oxnard”, dijo el alcalde Zaragoza. “Gracias a la aprobación de la Medida E por parte de los votantes, tendremos nuestro primer presupuesto positivo en más de una década. Estamos comenzando nuestro primer año de restaurar muchos servicios que nuestra comunidad necesita y merece. Junto con mis colegas del Concejo Municipal, establecimos nuestras prioridades de 5 años, que proporcionan una guía para el progreso continuo”.
El discurso sobre el estado de la ciudad reflejará los desafíos presentados por la pandemia de COVID-19 y también destacará cómo el personal de la ciudad apoyó a la comunidad de Oxnard en tiempos de necesidad. El alcalde también discutirá la Medida E, las Prioridades de 5 años del Concejo Municipal, la nueva instalación de Amazon, actualizaciones sobre el Parque Empresarial Sakioka y otras noticias comerciales.
