Meth and Slot Machines found in Ventura Home

Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release

Ventura Police Department Street Crimes Unit Detectives concluded an investigation into possible narcotic sales occurring at a residence in the 900 block of Sapphire Circle.

Detectives had received numerous complaints from nearby residents as well as observing suspicious activity during several surveillance operations.

On Sept. 22nd at 11:50 AM a search warrant was served and the suspect, 47 year old Ventura resident, Melissa Gosaynie, was detained without incident.

During the search of this residence detectives located and seized over one-quarter ounce of suspected methamphetamine and other items that indicated narcotic sales were, in fact, occurring at this location.

Detectives also located two “Las Vegas” style slot machines in the residence that were operational.

Possession of these types of gambling devices is illegal in California under Penal Code section 330b, a misdemeanor crime.

Gosaynie was arrested and transported to the Ventura Police Department for interrogation. She was later transported and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail on the felony charge of possession of a controlled substance for sales and the misdemeanor charge of possession of an illegal gambling device.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this crime please contact the Ventura Police Department Street Crimes Unit Narc Hotline at 805-339-4331.
