Metrolink Selects Todd P. McIntyre as Chief Strategy Officer

LOS ANGELES – Today, Metrolink announced the selection of Todd P. McIntyre to the position of Chief Strategy Officer to lead the commuter railroad’s planning, government affairs, community relations, procurement and railroad services.
McIntyre joins Metrolink after three years at the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) in Washington D.C. as Chief of Staff where he served as an advisor and proxy for the director on strategic direction and decision making. Prior to DDOT, McIntyre worked at the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) where he managed oversight of more than $4 billion in freight and passenger rail capital programs around the U.S. including the California High-Speed Rail Authority and the Pacific Northwest Rail Corridor.
“Todd brings a breadth of experience to the position of Chief Strategy Officer at both the local and national levels and a deep knowledge of transportation policy and legislative affairs along with direct management experience of commuter and freight capital programs,” said Metrolink CEO Stephanie Wiggins.
McIntyre is well versed in the transportation environment of Southern California having worked with a variety of local transportation commissions.
“I am honored and humbled to join Metrolink’s new leadership team at this exciting time. I look forward to working with Metrolink’s partners and stakeholders, including the member agencies, a broad delegation of elected officials, staff at cities throughout the region and regional citizens to advance our shared transportation goals,” McIntyre said.
McIntyre received a Bachelor of Arts from Morehouse College in 1996 and a Master of Planning Degree from the USC in 2006.
He is a recipient of the FRA Administration Award for Excellence in 2016 and the Secretary of Transportation Award for Excellence in 2013 and 2015.
Metrolink is Southern California’s regional commuter rail service in its 26th year of operation. Metrolink is governed by The Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA), a joint powers authority made up of an 11-member board representing the transportation commissions of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties. Metrolink operates seven routes through a six-county, 538 route-mile network. Metrolink’s passengers travel approximately 441 million miles each year, making Metrolink the second busiest public transportation provider in Southern California. Metrolink is the third largest commuter rail agency in the United States based on directional route miles and the eighth largest based on annual ridership.
