CLEVELAND—“I am deeply humbled by your confidence.  I accept your nomination to run and serve as Vice President to the United States,” said Indiana Governor Mike Pence at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday.  “I am Christian, Conservative, Republican in that order.

“I started out in the other party but I signed on for the Reagan revolution,” said Pence, who said he was raised in a small town in southern Indiana with a cornfield in his backyard.  “I join this campaign to fight for a winner…the no nonsense leadership that Donald Trump will bring to the White House as the 45th President of the United States.

“Donald Trump gets it.  He is a doer in a game usually reserved for talkers.   He doesn’t follow rules of political correctness.  He is his own man.  He is distinctly American with an independent spirit in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

“Donald is an outsider who turned a long-shot campaign into a movement.   The choice couldn’t be more clear.  Choose the failed establishment in Washington, D.C. or choose a leader who will fight every day to Make America Great Again.  It is change vs. the status quo.

“As this election approaches, every American will define the Supreme Court of the next 40 years.  Will we be subject to unelected judges taking unconstitutional action?  We’ve had 7.5 years of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton policies.  They have led from behind, apologizing to our enemies and abandoning our friends.

“America needs to be strong for the world to be safe.  On the world stage, Donald Trump will lead from strength.  He will rebuild our military.  He will destroy the enemies of freedom and America will stand with Israel.

“We are one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.   We have a rendezvous with destiny.  I have faith in the capacity of the American people and faith that God can still heal our land but we have a choice to make.

“Do we want a President that will protect this nation, confront radical Islamic terrorists, restore law and order, support law enforcement, cut taxes?  Do we want a President that will upend the status quo in Washington D.C. and appoint justices that will uphold the Constitution?

“We have one choice.  That man is ready, this team is ready, our party is ready, when we elect Donald Trump as 45th President of the United States, together, we will Make America Great Again.”

Pence’s remarks were preceded by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich who told delegates that “only one candidate will uphold the Constitution” and it is Donald Trump and the Republican ticket that will “implement Republican principles in Washington, D.C.”

“We need to stand with Donald Trump and Mike Pence,” said Gingrich so that “we can Make America Safe Again, we can Make America Work Again, we can Make America Great again for all Americans.”

Earlier in the evening, Eric Trump, the younger son of Donald Trump spoke for the millennials “like myself, who never considered public service.”   According to Eric Trump, “Oprah Winfrey once asked my Dad if he would ever run for President?  My Dad said only if it got so bad that I had no other choice.  Ladies and gentleman that day has come.”

“My Father is running for you” said Eric Trump.   “This November, be true to your self, for the candidate running for the right reason, who has never been a politician, never received a paycheck from the government.  Vote for the candidate that can’t be bought.  Vote for the right candidate that does not need the job.  Vote for my hero, my best friend, and the next President of the United States.”
