Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
On April 28th, 2021, detectives from the Moorpark Station Investigations Bureau arrested Nora Cowle of El Monte, for burglary, auto theft, and conspiracy charges, after a four-month investigation.
The case began on January 2nd, when an employee of a Moorpark area grocery store reported to patrol deputies that someone had broken into her employee locker, which was located in a restricted area of the store. The employee told deputies that the suspect had stolen her wallet, car keys, and vehicle, which was parked in the store parking lot. Detectives from the Moorpark Investigations Bureau assumed the case, reviewed store security video, and determined the thefts were committed by a male and female suspect who were not employees. Both suspects were in their mid-twenties and appeared to be working in concert with one another.
Detectives conducted an extensive investigation using a variety of investigative techniques and successfully identified the female suspect as Nora Cowle of El Monte. Detectives also learned that Cowle was in custody in a San Bernardino County jail on unrelated auto theft charges. On April 28th, 2021, detectives drove to the West Valley Detention Center in the city of Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino County, and arrested Cowle immediately upon her release from custody and transported her back to Ventura County to face charges.
Cowle was booked at the Ventura County Jail on charges of burglary, auto theft, and conspiracy with her bail set at $50,000.00. Detectives expect to make an additional arrest on this case over the next few weeks.
