Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
On September 29, 2020, detectives with the Moorpark Police Department with assistance from the Ventura Sheriff’s Office – East County Major Crimes/Sexual Assault Unit concluded a nine month criminal investigation by arresting Antonio Amezcua for a variety of sex related offenses with underage females and domestic violence charges.
In December of 2019, detectives began to investigate Amezcua for distributing child pornography and distributing intimate photographs (Revenge Porn).
Detectives executed several search warrants for Amezcua’s cellular telephone and social media accounts, along with conducting several interviews. Detectives recovered evidence showing Amezcua was in a sexual and physically abusive relationship with an underage female. Amezcua was also in possession of several nude photographs of underage females and distributed them.
On September 29, 2020, detectives contacted Amezcua at his residence in the City of Moorpark. Amezcua was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility and his bail was set at $400,000. Amezcua was arrested on the following charges: Penal Code Section 261.5(a)-Unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, Penal Code Section 287(b)(2)-Oral copulation of a child under 16, Penal Code Section 288.3(a)-Contacting a minor to commit a felony, Penal Code Section-311.1-Distributing child pornography, Penal Code Section 647(j)(4)(A)-Distributing intimate images (Revenge Porn), Penal Code Section 273.5(a)-Corporal injury to dating partner, Penal Code Section 653m(b)-Annoying electronic communication, Penal Code Section 148(a)(1)-Resists/Obstructs police officer and Penal Code Section-148.9(a)-False identification to a police officer.
