Nathaniel Wills (DOB 04/11/88), of Oxnard, has been charged in Ventura County Superior Court case 2021002554 with second-degree murder for the killing of Leonel Parks.Â
On March 9, 2021, after his release from the hospital, officers from the Oxnard Police Department arrested Wills for second-degree murder and driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, stemming from an incident that occurred on January 21, 2021, at approximately 7:40 a.m. It is alleged that Wills was driving approximately 70 miles per hour while under the influence of alcohol, veered across all lanes of Rose Avenue, then crashed into a tree stump. During the collision, one of the passengers, Mr. Parks, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased on scene. Two other passengers were transported to the hospital with major injuries. Wills has four prior convictions for driving under the influence.
Wills is scheduled to be arraigned on March 11, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. He is currently in custody with bail set at $500,000.
