On August 27, 2020, detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team concluded a narcotics sales investigation involving David Arrieta and Monique Arrieta from Oxnard, who were involved in the sales of narcotics to residents of Ventura County.
In early August 2020, detectives obtained information indicating David and Monique Arrieta were involved in the sales of heroin and methamphetamine to residents of Ventura County. Detectives identified David as a documented gang member from the City of Oxnard. Detectives conducted an investigation and subsequently gathered enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for their residence located in the 1800 Block of Claremont Driven in Oxnard.
On August 27, 2020, detectives with the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail contacted David and Monique during a traffic enforcement stop in Port Hueneme. During the contact and search pursuant to the search warrant, detectives found 111 grams of methamphetamine and a small quantity of heroin concealed on Monique’s person. Detectives also found evidence in the vehicle indicative of narcotics sales. Based on the investigation, David and Monique were both arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Headquarters Station for processing.
Following their arrests, detectives executed the search warrant at their residence on Claremont Drive. During the warrant service, detectives contacted and detained Javier Tamayo, a documented gang member from the City of Oxnard. During the search, detectives found a loaded unregistered firearm in Tamayo’s bedroom. Detectives found an additional stolen firearm in David and Monique’s bedroom. Tamayo was arrested and transported to the Headquarters Station for processing.
David, Monique and Tamayo all have prior felony convictions that prohibit them from owning and or possessing any firearms or ammunition. Based on the investigation, David, Monique and Tamayo were all booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on various narcotics sales and illegal firearms possession charges.
