National Day of Prayer, a ​Ventura  Countywide worship and prayer gathering will be celebrated at Serra Cross, Ventura, on Thursday, May 4th, from Noon to One.
 

This inter-denominational, inter-racial, inter-generational prayer gathering will feature  music, prayer and meditation on Psalm 24, and mime. ​It will be one of 48,000 events across America on

​May 4th​ An additional option will be a prayer walk from the Botanical Garden trail behind Ventura City Hall up to Serra Cross at 11 am, arriving at the main event at  the cross by noon. There will be people with banners at the trail head.

The event is free and the public is warmly invited to attend.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
