Navy Hosts Hiring Fair in Ventura for Civilian Positions Open to the Public

The inaugural Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest and Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) Ventura Hiring Fair will be hosted on Saturday, January 26th from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at America’s Job Center, 2901 N. Ventura Rd, 3rd Floor, Oxnard, CA 93036!

This is the first time the commands have held an on-the-spot hiring event under new regulations designed to cut months off the normal federal hiring process!

Three California State resources – Department of Rehabilitation (DoR), Employment Development Department’s (EDD) Veterans Employment Program, and EDD’s Employment Program – are teaming up to help recruit veterans and individuals with Schedule A disabilities, as well as to provide preparation assistance all job seekers to set them up for resume and interview success.

NAVFAC Southwest/EXWC have over 400 openings region-wide in 100 career fields but will be targeting the following for Ventura County and Lemoore installations: Electricians, High Voltage Electricians, Painters, Fire Prevention Systems Mechanics, HVAC Technicians, Laborer/Maintenance Workers, Construction Mechanics, Construction Managers, Engineer Techs, Performance Assessment Representatives, Electrical Engineers, Fiber Optic Communications Engineer/Scientists, and General Facilities Engineers.

Advance submission of tailored resumes is strongly encouraged; not all qualified walk-up candidates can be guaranteed an on-site interview.

Job seekers can have their resumes reviewed and critiqued on-site and receive assistance from the CA DoR for Schedule A letters.

It’s our hope that attendees will walk away feeling one step closer on their path to the career they want.

Federal service careers feature competitive salaries, over 200 health care plans, paid time off (sick, vacation, and federal holidays), professional development, federal retirement plans, gym access, telework and flexible schedules (position dependent), and much more.
