We need you to help us pass H.R. 620!

H.R. 620 will be heard on the House floor this week.  We are urging our CALA friends and supporters to share your story about an abusive ADA lawsuit in writing with us so we can send them to the California House delegation!!

Even if we know your story, please write it and send it to our CALA representatives now by clicking here.  Please include your name and city.

HR 620, federal legislation sponsored by Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) would reduce the number of “drive-by” lawsuits filed against small businesses, increase access for the disabled and develop an alternative dispute resolution model that would lessen the burden on the courts.

There is a strong bipartisan coalition of eight California congressional leaders from across the state who are co-sponsors.

H.R. 620 would offer significant reforms and protections for California small business owners who are targets of abusive ADA lawsuits that put many owners and their families at risk of losing their businesses and the livelihood that it provides for them and their employees.

A small band of abusive plaintiff attorneys abuse the system for their own gain.  They care little about access but a lot about how easy it is to extort money for issues of technical non-compliance.

We all know the consequences ADA lawsuits have on our businesses and jobs.  H.R. 620 is a good bill and we need your support.

Even if we know your story, please write it and send it to our CALA representatives right now by clicking here. Please include your name and city.
