Negligent Discharge of a Firearm in Ventura
Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On 3/20/2018 10: 15 AM, the Ventura Police Command Center received a call from the victim saying she was at her home when a bullet went through her window and hit her TV. Immediately after the shot she heard a commotion outside her home. As she looked outside she saw her neighbor (Meyer) standing outside with a gun in his hand.
As officers arrived on scene it was determined that Meyer was inside his home when he pulled the trigger of his gun thinking it was unloaded. The round went through the wall of his home and into his neighbor’s window before striking her TV.
Meyer was cited for Negligent Discharge of Firearm and was released on scene. No one was injured during the incident.
