New COVID-19 Relief for Businesses in California

In an effort to provide relief to California businesses, especially small businesses, the state has acted to provide the following:

· Automatic three-month extensions for taxpayers filing less than $1 million in sales tax on returns

· Extended availability of existing interest and penalty-free payments agreements for businesses with up to $5 million in taxable sales

· Expanded interest-free payment options for larger businesses particularly impacted by COVID-19 transmissions

· Grants up to $25,000 in early 2021 for small businesses and non-profits

The California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) will be administering the grant program. To receive updates on the grant program you can sign up here. In addition, the California Rebuilding Fund is offering loans to help small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Interested small business owners can apply for a loan at this link.
