New Jail Dogs Placed for Training

The FAB 4! These four shelter dogs have been placed in the R.U.F.F. Road (Rehabilitation Utilizing Furry Friends) Therapy dog training program at the Todd Road Jail. They will be training with their new inmate handlers for the next 4 months; then they will be ready for adoption to the public for those interested in doing GOAL oriented therapy work. Watch our website for info and Pup updates.

We take our trained VIP Dog Team therapy dogs to places like the hospital rehab unit to work with stroke and brain injury patients and to the Camarillo Boys and Girls Club to work with 1st graders on their reading skills and more. Congrats pups!! Thank you to the VCAS Shelter and the VC Sheriffs Office it takes a village! This program helps keep our neighborhoods safe. These inmates will return to our Ventura County neighborhoods upon release. Recidivism rates drop for inmates who participate in dog training programs. If you like our program, you can give us a high five! Just $5 a month helps support our program. Go to to sign up.
