OXNARD, Calif. – The Oxnard City Clerk’s office announces the upcoming nomination period of Monday, July 18 through Friday, August 12, 2022, for Oxnard residents seeking election as Councilmembers for District 1, 2 or 5 on November 8, 2022.
To run for office, candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States and registered to vote, and reside within a District that is electing a Councilmember on November 8,2022. Incumbents currently occupying the seats up for election are Bert Perello (District 1), Gabe Teran (District 2), and Gabriela Basua (District 5).
INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES
To pull papers as a candidate, you must make an appointment with the City Clerk’s office by calling (805) 385-7803. The City Clerk’s office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and alternate Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. City Hall is closed on Friday on July 22 and August 5, 2022.
The deadline to submit completed nomination documents is 5 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022.
