Nominations open for Port Hueneme Chamber of Commerce 2017 Citizen and Business of the Year
Who do you think made an impact on our City in 2017? Which business do you feel is true community partner? Nominations are now open for the 2017 Citizen and Business of the Year.
Please join us in selecting and recognizing the Hueneme Chamber of Commerce’s “Business Person of the Year” and “Citizen of the Year” for 2017.
The committee to select both the “Business Person of the Year” and “Citizen of the Year” will be comprised of board members and the President of the Chamber of Commerce. Nominations must be made each year, as they are not held over from one year to the next. If you have made a nomination in the past and your candidate was not selected by the committee, you many nominate your candidate again.
The Business Person and Citizen of the Year are lifetime honors; therefore, past recipients are not eligible for the honor again. A list of the past honorees is included on the nomination form. Please be sure your signature is on the form (on the reverse of this letter) when you submit your nomination. Nominations must be received in the Chamber office no later than Thursday, February 28, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
Nominating criteria for the “Business Person of the Year” includes: current membership with the Hueneme Chamber of Commerce, strong activity level with the chamber and its functions as well as a strong commitment to the betterment of the business community.
The nominee for the “Citizen of the Year” must be a resident of the City of Port Hueneme for the past three years to be eligible for nomination. Include only those activities and achievements realized during 2017 in your nomination as only these will be taken into consideration on how they relate to the betterment of the city and the community as a whole. Activities and achievements prior 2013 will not be considered. The number of nominations received for one individual shall not determine his or her eligibility for the “2013 Citizen of the Year”.
