    Notable New Developments in Camarillo

There’s quite a bit of new construction happening in Camarillo. In addition to residential developments, there are several commercial/industrial projects that are underway, or on the way, including:

Mian Plaza – grading will soon begin on the irregular- shaped, 12.5 acre site on Ventura Blvd, between the 101 Freeway and the Camarillo Promenade. When complet- ed, Mian Plaza (right) will feature two hotels, an Embassy Suites and Home-2-Suites (277 rooms total), a 17,500 sq. ft. conference center, as well as retailers and eateries. The hotels should open in early 2020, and the conference center by mid-year.

Cloud 9 – much needed hangar space is coming to Camarillo Airport throughout the year. The County of Ventura is building 41 new hangars near the northeast section of the Airport. In the same area, though closer to Las Posas Road, a project called Cloud 9 (below) will include four 25,000 sq. ft. jet hangars. The

$20 million Cloud 9 development will be built on about six acres, and will be an attractive addition to the Airport. The solar-

powered facility will include a number of modern features. Construction is expected to begin this fall, and planes should be occupying the hangars by the fall of 2020.

Other Hotels – for a number of years, a Holiday Inn Express  was located just off the 101 Freeway at Central Avenue; that hotel has been converted to a Fairfield Inn & Suites, which will open  later this year. The 103-room Fairfield Inn has gone through a num- ber of design changes, resulting in project delays. The relocated Holiday Inn Express is around the corner from the Fairfield Inn, on Del Norte Road. The Holiday Inn was also recently renovated. For
