Nottingham Festival is a jolly good time in Simi Valley

Saturday November 15th marked the first of two days for the Nottingham Village Festival in Rancho Tapo Community Park (Lemon Park) near Veteran’s plaza. In its second year this Renaissance Faire is still on the small size.  However it has grown in attendance as well as the number of vendors.  Even better, there’s always some entertainment being offered continually on the four stages setup around the fairgrounds: from dancers to snippets of the Bard’s plays, bell ringers and minstrels and even an opportunity for you to try your own hand at auditioning for a part in a Shakespearean amusement.  

And, of course, what Faire would be complete without a royal procession and an appearance by her majesty, Queen Elizabeth?  Well, Good Bess does make the rounds, waving to her subjects and fair goers alike with a delicate twist of her hand.

If you are looking for some family fun, the Faire be will  open this Sunday.  So why not come out and hear the drum beat, dance a jig, see the colorful costumes, have your fortune read, enjoy a spot of ale and a turkey leg.  It’s all there in Simi Valley.
