November 2016 California Ballot: Potential 80 (Not a Typo) Measures on Ballot

The Secretary of State has certified about 80 measures for circulation for signatures to qualify for the November 2016 ballot. Issues from taxation to bond boondoggles to make Leftists feel good (by bankrupting 38 million people), we will not have pension reform. The major reason for so many ballot measures is because the confused Guv and the Democrat/Union legislature does not want to make ballot box

“Kaufman expects no more than a dozen measures to have enough backing. But Republican strategist Beth Miller says it’s more difficult than usual to pick which ones.

“More than any other election, there’s more moving pieces this year,” she says.

Initiatives need fewer signatures than usual, due to low turnout last election, plus—for the first time—proponents can withdraw their initiatives.

Both strategists expect the newest initiatives to make the cut. Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom’s gun control proposal would create background checks for ammunition buyers and ban high-capacity magazines.

Billionaire donor Charles Munger wants to require lawmakers to post bills for 72 hours before taking a final vote.

Poor rich Munger—he does not understand the legislative process. Even if you give 72 hours notice of a bill to be voted on, that really does not matter. When the bill hits the legislative floor you can have amendments. Can the public determine that no more amendments can be made to a bill? That will determination will be open to the courts. Munger financed Prop. 14 to promote higher turnouts. Instead it backfired on him, and us, in 2014 we had the lowest primary and general election turnout in history. Wonder how this effort will backfire.
