November/December Happenings at the Santa Paula Art Museum

SANTA PAULA, CA – There’s a lot happening at the Santa Paula Art Museum in November and December! For the first time in its ten-year history, the Museum’s annual Fine Art Auction Fundraiser is being hosted online. Bid on 20 beautiful works of art now through Sunday, November 22, 2020. The Museum’s annual art auction is its biggest fundraiser each year. All proceeds raised from the event benefit the Santa Paula Art Museum and the thousands of children, families, and adults that the Museum serves through its educational programs every year. Find a link to the online auction on the Museum’s website: www.santapaulaartmuseum.org/event/auction.

On Saturday, November 21, visitors can reserve a 45-minute tour of the current exhibition “Inspiration and Influence” with featured artists Duane Dammeyer and Rima Muna as tour guides. Experience the exhibit alongside its creators and learn about the process and meaning behind each artwork from the artists themselves. Reservations are required and can be made for 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., or 3:00 p.m. on the Museum’s website: www.santapaulaartmuseum.org/event/guidedtours.

Young artists can get their hands dirty during the Museum’s weeklong Kids’ Ceramics Camp, which will be taught Monday, December 7, 2020 to Friday December, 11, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Students will learn basic skills for hand-building ceramics and glazing techniques to create multiple projects, including pinch pots, coil vases, and even holiday ornaments! All projects will be fired on site and available for pick up before Christmas. The camp is appropriate for children ages 8-13. The cost of the five-day camp is $150.00 per person. All skill levels are welcome, and all materials will be provided. Preregistration is required and space is extremely limited. Preregister on the Museum’s website: www.santapaulaartmuseum.org/classes/ceramicscamp.

The Santa Paula Art Museum’s gift shop is also a great place to visit during the holiday season! Shop for unique gift items including jewelry, accessories, books, home goods, original art, and more. Plus, all of the artworks in the Museum’s current exhibitions are available to buy. Every purchase supports the Museum’s nonprofit work, and museum members receive 10% off their purchase. Shop in person or online at https://santapaulaartmuseum.square.site (online orders can be picked up curbside at the Museum).

The Santa Paula Art Museum occupies two historic buildings located at 117 N 10th Street and 123 N 10th Street in downtown Santa Paula. In accordance with public health directives, all Museum guests will be required to wear a face mask for the duration of their visit, sanitize their hands upon entry, and maintain 6 feet of distance from any visitor not in their party. Regular museum hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Regular admission is $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors, and free for students and museum members.
