Oak Park Home Break-in — Sheriff searches for Suspects

Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release

On May 15, 2017, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a residential burglary on Basswood Avenue in the community of Oak Park. Deputies made contact with the homeowners and determined an unknown suspect(s) had burglarized their home while they slept and removed several items of property.

Detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office immediately began investigating the crime. Investigators learned a short time after the burglary; an unknown female used the victim’s bank access cards at nearby businesses. Video surveillance shows a white female, 25 to 35 years in age, long brown hair, with a tattoo on the web of her left hand making the fraudulent transaction. The female is also seen getting into a grey four-door sedan which may have a minor dent on the front passenger quarter panel. Anyone with information on the identity of the female in the video is asked to contact Detective Purnell at (805) 947-8113.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind all residents of the Conejo Valley to be diligent with the security of their homes and vehicles. Ensure all doors and gates are secured, do not leave valuables visible inside your vehicle, and do not allow newspapers and mail to pile up. Most importantly, do not hesitate to call the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office if you suspect any suspicious activity.  The non-emergency phone line is (805) 654-9511, or 911 for all emergencies.
