Man charged on 76 counts of sexual assault with minor

rx arial, sale sans-serif;”>Edward Rote (DOB 11/28/64) has been charged with 76 counts of sexual assault, including lewd acts, sodomy, oral copulation and intercourse with a minor. At the time of his arrest, the defendant was employed as a campus supervisor at Oak Park High School.

It is alleged that Rote met the then-thirteen-year-old victim in 2004 while working as a psychic/spiritual advisor and began a lengthy sexual relationship with her shortly thereafter.

Rote is scheduled to appear for arraignment on October 1, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 13 of the Ventura Superior Court. He is currently in custody at the Ventura County jail. He faces a maximum sentence of 53 years.
