Narrative On the evening of October 22 while checking ocean conditions at the end of Greenock Lane in Ventura, a Ventura City Fire Engine Company noticed three swimmers in distress. Three 12 year old females were trapped in a large rip current 150′ off shore and 200 yards south of Greenock Lane in medium surf.  Recognizing their distress, the engine company officer initiated a water rescue response and deployed a rescue swimmer from his engine company.  The rescue swimmer made contact with three victims 150′ off shore in 8 feet of water.  All three juveniles were assisted back to shore, one of which was placed inside a rescue buoy and swum in by the rescue swimmer.

None of the juveniles were injured and were released back to their parents after being assessed by Fire Department paramedics.
