Ocean rescue- Vessel aground

On November 4, 2016 / 09:48  at the State Beach between Sanjon and San Pedro, 2 Paramedic Engines with Rescue Swimmers, 1 Command, Ventura Harbor Patrol and State lifeguards,  performed a rescue operation, involving a grounded boat in the surf and its operator.

Agencies Involved: Ventura City Fire, California State Parks, Ventura Harbor Patrol, Coast Guard, California Fish and Wildlife 

On the above date and time the Ventura City Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vessel in distress south of the Ventura Pier.  Fire personnel arrived on scene to find both the Ventura Harbor Patrol and State lifeguards assisting an adult male to shore from a 30 foot cabin cruiser run aground in the surf.  The adult male was the only person on the boat and was uninjured. 

No rescue personnel where injured as a result of this incident.  The circumstances surrounding the vessel running aground remain under investigation.  California State Parks personnel and the United States Coast Guard are working together with the boat owner to salvage the boat and mitigate any hazards.
