One Restaurant Chain is Responsible for Building the Best Offensive Line in College Football

Sports Illustrated recently published an incredible profile of the Wisconsin Badgers offensive line.

The profile, titled “Immovables Feast: Wisconsin’s Outstanding O-Line Is Built by Red Robin,” discusses how the beasts up front have used Red Robin to become the beasts they are today.

SI wrote in part:

This outpost of the Red Robin chain in a Madison suburb has become holy ground for the 300-pounders who protect Hornibrook and open holes for Heisman hopeful Jonathan Taylor. Deiter, Biadasz, left tackle Jon Dietzen and right tackle David Edwards populate the High Council, which meets weekly. Right guard Beau Benzschawel has yet to be admitted to the Council because of his insistence on ordering fish and chips or chicken fingers instead of a burger*. Yet all five agree on the restorative powers of Campfire Sauce, the barbecue sauce/mayonnaise mix into which they dunk dozens of fries on each visit. “Just get a light coating,” Edwards advises. “Not a huge glob.”

Straight up, the photos of them eating Red Robin food might be the sexiest photos on the internet. They just ooze power and influence.

I dare anybody to look at those guys and then tell me they’re not loving life. Some football teams focus on protein shakes and working out. That’s for hardos and fools. This is the most Wisconsin story that has ever been told. Just a bunch of regular guys winning football games and eating burgers and fries. I can’t put into words how excited this story makes me. It’s going to be even funnier when we walk off the field at the end of the year as national champions.

Everybody wants to laugh at us simple folks and the lives we lead. Well, we’ll see who’s laughing when our Red Robin fueled offensive line pushes teams all over the field. See you all August 31. It’s going to be a hell of a season.
