Open letter to Julia Brownley–IRS Tea Party Congressional Investigation

Editor’s Note: This was sent to us by one of our newest writers. All he is asking is for transparency in government and common sense when it comes to believing an excuse that is equivalent to, “The dog ate my homework.”

Message Text:

Today I learned, in addition to Lois Lerner’s emails being lost by the IRS, six other government officials also have pertinent emails that have also been lost. I cannot believe that in this era an IT expert cannot recover those emails. This is inexcusable and I believe an outright lie. I am asking you to support the appointment of a Special Prosecutor to take over the IRS investigation. President Nixon was impeached over 18 minutes of missing taped conversation. “Losing emails” which are automatically stored on servers for seven people is much more serious than 18 erased minutes on a private tape recorder. You have a sworn duty to uphold the Constitution. I am counting on you to do the right thing and lead the charge to appoint a Special Prosecutor. The liberal position is: Republicans are just trying to stir up a conspiracy is an insult to the people of the United States whether she/he is a Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian etc. If you truly represent all of the people in your District you will faithfully execute the rights and obligations that the people have entrusted to you.

Lost emails? I don’t think so, I think the dog ate them! Let’s go with a tried and true excuse.

Citizen Reporter

If Lois Lerner was using a private email account, she was breaking the law.

Govt. email accounts are on central servers, so if Lois (and 7 other employees) computers all “crashed,” the emails would still be recovered from the servers or their back-ups.

Don’t any of these people back up their computers?

Imagine if a taxpayer claimed his/her records were lost in a “computer crash.” That’s right up there with “the dog ate my homework.”

I understand that Lois was also required by law to keep hard copies of emails.

Lois and the IRS are liars and bad ones at that. We’re not buying it. Yes, appoint special prosecutor and while you’re at it, Congress, one for Obama’s impeachment too. Then let the games begin- we’re badly overdue. As Harry Truman said, back when we had a REAL President: “The buck stops here.”

By the way, if all else fails, why not ask the NSA to provide Lois’ emails?
