Outdoor Art Classes at the Santa Paula Art Museum

SANTA PAULA, CA – While the Santa Paula Art Museum’s indoor galleries remain closed, its art classes have moved outside! All classes are being taught within the Museum’s outdoor courtyard to allow for art making while social distancing. Space is extremely limited as class sizes are being kept small, and preregistration is required. Register for class and read more about the Museum’s new policies for maintaining a safe learning environment on our website: www.santapaulaartmuseum.org/creativity.

Join us outside on Thursday, August 20, 2020, for “$5 Craft Night” from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It will be an evening of fun, crafting, and creativity for only $5.00! Teaching artist Mariann Romero will introduce you to the craft of Zen Doodling. Learn tips and tricks for patterning, shaping and defining doodles, and tap into your creative flow to create simple, one-of-a-kind artworks. This class is appropriate for everyone age 16 and over. All supplies will be included, and no experience is necessary.

On Saturday, August 22, 2020, Romero will teach “Monotypes Using Gelatin Prints,” a fast, fun (and now outdoor) experience in printmaking from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Learn how to make your own gelatin plate, use a variety of tools to create expressive and spontaneous imagery, and employ water-based inks to generate multiple prints to take home. This class is appropriate for everyone ages 16 and over. All skill levels are welcome, and all supplies will be provided. The cost of this class is $80.00 per person.
