Overnight Full Closures of State Route 126 in Ventura and Santa Paula for Paving Operation

VENTURA, SANTA PAULA – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced plans to fully close segments of State Route 126 (SR-126) next week for road paving operations in the cities of Ventura and Santa Paula. Residents and local businesses located near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with construction activities.

From Monday, November 26 through Friday, November 30, the following closures of SR-126 will be in place in the cities of Ventura and Santa Paula between 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

Eastbound:

  • Full closure from Wells Rd. to Briggs Rd.   
  • Full closure from Briggs Rd. to Peck Rd.
  • Full closure from Palm Ave. to Hallock Dr.
  • Victoria Ave, Kimball Rd., Wells Rd., Briggs Rd., Peck Rd., and Palm Ave on and off-ramps.

Westbound 

  • Full closure from Hallock Dr. to Palm Ave.
  • Full closure from Peck Rd. to Briggs Rd.
  • Full closure from Briggs Rd. to Wells Rd.
  • Palm Ave, Peck Rd., Briggs Rd., Wells Rd., Kimball Rd., and Victoria Ave. on and off-ramps.

Closures may start and end later. All closures are weather permitting and subject to change.

Ramps will not be closed consecutively. A signed detour will be posted for motorists who need to continue their commute on SR-126. Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes or avoid the area. Additionally, motorists can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap.

The closures are part of a road paving project on SR-126 that stretches from US-101 to Haun Creek Bridge. C.A. Rasmussen Inc. of Valencia, CA is the contractor.

Caltrans reminds drivers to be “Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
