Oxnard Police Department – Incident Press Release
On January 2, 2020 at approximately 9:00 A.M., Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) and the K-9 Unit, served a search warrant in the 2000 block of San Jose Street. The search warrant was related to gang related robbery that occurred on December 5th, 2019, in Colonia Park, 170 North Juanita Avenue.
In that incident, a juvenile victim was contacted by several subjects in the park. At one point, one of the suspects took the victim’s property then brandished a knife at the victim. The suspect then made statements regarding his allegiance to an Oxnard based criminal street gang. The victim then fled from the scene.
During the course of the investigation, investigators were able to identify the primary suspect, a 15 year old Oxnard resident. While serving today’s search warrant, the juvenile was contacted at the residence and arrested for robbery and street terrorism. The investigation is ongoing.
