    Oxnard, CA | Man Arrested After Bomb Scare At US Post Office

    SUBJECT:    Man arrested after a bomb scare at the US Post Office

    LOCATION:  1961 N. C Street, Oxnard

    SUSPECTS: Glenn Stombres, 51, Oxnard resident

    The US Post Office at 1961 N. C Street in Oxnard was briefly evacuated shortly after 1 p.m. after a man walked in and claimed he had a bomb in his backpack.

    Officers evacuated the post office and the suspect was safely taken into custody after a short standoff with police.

    The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad searched the backpack but did not find any trace of a threat and determined the area was safe.

    Officers are working closely with the US Postal Service to determine the charges against Glenn Stombres,52, from Oxnard.
