    News Release
By Audrey Keller – CINC Channel Islands Neighborhood Council
Harbor and Beach friends and neighbors!

Re-DISTRICTING is ON Sept. 30th, City Council Special Meeting Agenda @ 6pm…
    SO START HERE.
Start first, with watching the two attached presentations.
    WHY SHOULD YOU CARE?
    1) This is a big deal IF you live on the harbor or beach communities.  If we do nothing…not only may our Councilmember Bert Perello be MOVED to A NEW DISTRICT. Bert has been serving our district and he knows what we need/want.
    2) If Bert gets moved to a new district, we could get a totally NEW council member with LITTLE or NO EXPERIENCE ON COUNCIL (There is a special election Nov. 2nd for District 2)  The winner of that race, could get redistricted to us!!!!
    3) The County too is being impacted by redistricting, because our Supervisor Carmen Ramirez (we just voted her into the office) may be moved to serve another district. Then we get a totally new Supervisor – likely Matt LaVere.
    KEEP WATCH & SPEAK UP
We really have to speak up folks.  Write in advance or make a point at Public Comments – you can email reserve call in.
