OXNARD—Almost 150 attendees showed up at Oxnard Calvary on Saturday for the Ventura County Content of Character event sponsored by Dran Reese and the Salt and Light Council—a San Diego based ministry that informs and equips Christians to be biblical responsible citizens.

Hosting the conference was Oxnard Calvary Senior Pastor Lance Ralston and Kingdom Life radio host and mechanical engineer Al Duff, Jr. with Thousand Oaks Godspeak Calvary Chapel Senior Pastor Rob McCoy serving as emcee.  Welcome was given by Oxnard Chief of Police Scott Whitney.  Theme of the event was “Shaping the Future of California.”

Featured morning speakers included:  Jesse Lee Peterson, a national radio show host (“Rebuildiing the Family”); Lori Hoye (“Black Genocide”); Pastor Walter Hoye, founder and president of Issues 4 Life Foundation (“Black History”); Senior Pastor Stephen Broden of Fair Park Bible Fellowship Center in Dallas, Texas and (“Pawns of Change, Equality Act & Gender Fluidity”).

Afternoon speakers included:  Linda Paine, president and co-founder of the Election Integrity Project, California (“Voter Fraud”); Pastor Art Hodges, Senior Pastor South Bay Pentecostal Church, Chula Vista (“Platforms, Parties and Values”); Marshall Foster, president and founder of the World History Institute (“America’s Founding”); Patrice Tsague, Kingdom Business Coaching and co-founder of the Nehemiah Project (“Biblical Entrepreneurship”) and Dran Reese, president of Salt & Light Council, and co-founder of (“Actions and Community Engagement”).

Jesse Lee Peterson:  “We need to restore the order” in families

“We need to restore the order” (in families) with God over Christ.  Christ over man.  Man over woman.  Woman over children,” said Jesse Lee Peterson, national radio host/founder of BOND (Brotherhood Organization of New Destiny).

Peterson, founder of a credit union, and of which is located in Los Angeles expressed concern on how mothers have turned their children away from their fathers to even hating fathers which has resulted in anger and resentment that needs to be forgiven.

“I grew up when morality was apparent in a plantation in Alabama outside of Montgomery under Jim Crow laws but we had a family.   There was no such thing as abortion.  I was 18 and I still did not know about abortions.  Morality was important and sin was not flaunted.  Anger between black and white people was unheard of.   There were good and bad black people.  There were good and bad white people.

“Now there are 70-75 percent of black babies born out of wedlock.   We even celebrate with baby showers promoting evil as good.  Women and children need their fathers.  If you don’t have an earthly father you don’t love God.

Petersen quoted from Malachi 4:7:  “And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.”

    Lori Hoye

Lori Hoye:  “A black baby loses its life in America every 74 seconds”

“A black baby loses it life in America every 74 seconds,” said Lori Hoye.   “Abortion has taken over 21 million Black lives in America.  Abortion has the specific intent to destroy, in whole or in substantial part Black America.  We charge genocide.   If we don’t stop this trajectory, look for black folk (in 25 years) in the Smithsonian.”

In introducing Hoye, a statistician for the Golden State Warriors, emcee Thousand Oaks Pastor Rob McCoy said that 13 percent of the U.S. population is black with half of that women (6.5 percent of U.S. population) and a little more than half of that women of child-bearing age (4 percent of the U.S. population) responsible for 40 percent of the abortions in the United States.

Hoye contrasted the 21 million Black lives lost by abortion in America to the 1.5 million lives lost in the Armenian genocide and the 6 million lives lost in the Jewish Holocaust.  She stated that the Black fertility rate in America had dropped from 7.9 in 1850 to 3.6 in 1950 and is now currently at 1.8.  Hoye said that a fertility rate of 2.1 is required for a culture to maintain itself for more than 25 years and that if it reached 1.3 it would be impossible to reverse.

According to Proverbs 6:16-17:  “These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him…Hands that shed innocent blood.” Hoye said,  “Abortion is the shedding of innocent blood.”

Raphael Lemkin, was a lawyer of Polish Jewish descent, credited with coining the term “geno” (Greek for family, tribe or race) and “cide” (Latin for killing) and initiating the Genocide Convention which was adopted by the United Nations on Dec. 9, 1948 as General Assembly Resolution 260 but was not signed by the United States until Feb. 11, 1986 by a vote of 83-11. Wisconsin Senator (D) had spoken in favor of the treaty every day it was in session between 1967 and 1986 (a total of 3,211 times).

    Pastor Walter Hoye

Walter Hoye:  “33 Black Americans elected to Congress were Republicans”

The first “33 Black Americans elected to Congress were Republicans,” said Walter Hoye:  “13 had been slaves; all were self-educated; 3 were ministers, 7 were attorneys, 5 were school teachers, 4 were university presidents; and 13 were state legislators.”

Hoye, founder and president of Issues4Life Foundation, contrasted the Republican Party (the party of Abraham Lincoln) with the Democrat Party—the “Party of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK)—an American white supremacist hate group whose primary target were African Americans.   Hoye said that not one of the 114 Democrats in Congress voted for the Civil Rights Bill (Act of 1875) after the 13 Amendment was passed (1865) abolishing slavery.

The Civil Rights Act of 1875 was to “protect all citizens in their civil and legal rights” in response to civil rights violations against African Americans especially by the KKK who were lynching Blacks and even white Republicans in the South.  Hoye said that his great-grandfather was lynched and his great-grandmother also killed.  But even those not killed faced voter intimidation and fraud (such as the poll tax and literacy test).

However, Hoye said that many African Americans were upset in 1877 when the Republican Party “sold us out” to win the Presidency as a deal was brokered to end Reconstruction and pull federal troops out of the South so that Republican nominee Rutherford B. Hayes (Governor of Ohio) would win over Democrat nominee Samuel J. Tilden (Governor of New York).

Then the most significant events that drove African Americans into the Democrat Party occurred in the 1960s due to Civil Rights activism led by Martin Luther King, Jr. and followed by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

“It is important we understand our history.  We have to understand how we got where we are today.  It is important the truth be told.  It is critical we uphold and support Biblical values.”

    Senior Pastor Stephen Broden

Stephen Broden: “The black community is the guinea pig of the liberal left”

“The black community is the guinea pig of the liberal left on how to change and flip America into a socialist America,” said Pastor Stephen Broden, Fair Park Bible Fellowship Center (Dallas, TX).   “The rescue of this Republic goes through this community.  If we stop voting for Democrats in the next election cycle, America will be saved.  The black community is a significant player in the rescue of this Republic.  If we stop doing abortions, abortion in America will be stopped.

“For those in pursuit of the American dream, wake up.   Nothing happens to a sleeper but a dream.  We are a hair breath away from losing this Republic.   We would have lost it, if Hillary had been elected.

“Thomas Jefferson said an educated citizenry is a vital requisite to the survival of any people.  Americans need to be aware of what is going on and secure our liberties.  Ronald Reagan said ‘the extinction of freedom is only one generation away.’

“The liberal left has exploited the black community to accomplish its agenda.  They came into our community to advance a social agenda to flip America.  They came into our community to undermine America’s health in three areas:  Biblical morality, strength in patriotism and in its spiritual life.”

Pastor Broden quoted Proverbs 29:2:  “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”

Broden said that America use to proclaim itself a Christian nation.   “Would a Christian nation murder over 60 million babies?  Would a Christian nation kill its old folk through euthanasia?  Would a Christian nation allow same-sex marriage?  Would a Christian nation allow gender fluidity?  Would a Christian nation allow a drag queen hour?  Would a Christian nation indoctrinate our children?  Would a Christian nation sexualize our children legally?

“We are fighting for our rights to be Christians in America now,” said Broden, who asked event attendees to sign the Proclamation for Morality against the Equality Act on because The Equality Act “threatens to hijack civil rights by equating sodomy with race and biological gender.  Not only will this mean that same-sex showers and bathrooms are a civil right, but it will criminalize any Christian quotation of scriptures that opposes LGBTQ+ behavior.”

The Equality Act if passed by Congress would amend existing civil rights law—including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fair Housing Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Jury Selection and Services Act, and several laws regarding employment with the federal government—to explicitly include sexual orientation and gender identity as protected characteristics prohibiting discrimination in public spaces and services and federally funded programs on the basis of sex.  The Equality Act was passed in the House by a vote of 236-173 on May 17, 2019. Though the Equality Act currently has the support of 46 Senators; it has not yet been passed in the U.S. Senate.

    Linda Paine

Linda Paine:  “California elections can be manipulated;”

“California elections can be manipulated,” said Linda Paine, the President and co-founder of Election Integrity Project, California.  The “election process has become corrupt.  It is systemic, impacting every county.   Integrity is being removed from the election process through legislation.  Citizens are losing their voice in government.

Election Integrity Project, California had 2,100 volunteers to observe the polls in 36 counties in 2012.   One of the issues was provisional ballots with California casting 40 percent of all provisional votes in the nation in 2012 and 70 percent of all provisional ballots nationwide in 2018.  According to Paine these votes are the hardest to safeguard from voter fraud.

“Our 2019 inquiry and analysis has been on county policies and procedures” and why was their thousands of damaged votes that had to be re-done in the 2018 election? Why only Republicans elected to office on election day lost their elections when all ballots were counted weeks later?  Another concern is steps toward centralizing voting through voting centers (Ventura County is moving to vote this way).

“California is the least represented body of citizens in the country.   Our population has exploded but we have not increased our State Senators (one Senator for one million people) or State Representatives (an Assembly representative for 500,000 people).

“We need to restore integrity to the election process.  Just voting will not keep the Republic.   Those who govern control the citizens 365 days per year.   The citizens only control those who govern one-half day per year when they vote.

“Our Constitutional Republic” is in danger of collapse and “is being transformed into a globalist socialist oligarchy.”

    Pastor Art Hodges

Art Hodges:  “America has Powerless Pulpits; Powerless Politicians”

“America has powerless pulpits and powerless politicians,” said Pastor Art Hodges, Senior Pastor South Bay Pentecostal Church, Chula Vista.  We are “called to be a priest or a king, called to be a preacher or politician, called to be leaders of the marketplace and righteous children of God.

“In the 21st century, we are mesmerized by media.  We value personality over position, charisma over character.  The duty of our government is to protect personal rights not personal agendas.

Pastor Hodges led a protest in September opposing the Draw Queen Story Hour scheduled at the Chula Vista Civic Center Library.  His efforts were rewarded by the vandalism of his church—which was classified a “hate crime.”

Hodges told of a 2016 experience.  He previously was a pastor who separated the pulpit from politics.  “I thought politics was a two part word:  “poli” which means many and “tics” which describes a blood sucking animal.  (But) God said to me, I desire a holy nation on earth.  I want citizens who are called to be priests and kings on earth.  I want Christians to answer their call.”

“We have 100 million evangelicals (in America), over half are not registered to vote, over half of those do not vote in a non-presidential year.  Voting is not only a right but a duty.  Vote Biblical values.  Don’t vote based on party, race or age.

“Read the Republican and Democrat Party platforms.   One believes in a Creator, the other does not; one believes in prayer; the other does not; one believes in pastors; the other does not; one believes in the church, the other does not; one believes in preaching, the other does not; one believes in the sanctity of human life; the other does not; one believe in marriage, the other does not.

Hodges talked about the first and second great awakenings in America and said the “best way to revive a church is to build a fire in the pulpit.  We need a shaking in the pulpit” but many pastors are “afraid to upset the congregation.   The greatest problem lies in the fearful hearts of those in pulpits.   We need sound preaching that confronts and rebukes sin.  Our first duty is to please God.”

Marshall Foster:   “Americans need Jesus Christ…not cultural Marxism”

“Selective tolerance has been developed on our college campuses…anger at all sides.  What is needed is Jesus Christ,” said Marshall Foster, president and founder of the World History Institute.

“Cultural Marxism was directed at the white community and spoiled white kids. After World War II, (Cultural Marxists) couldn’t use the rich against the poor so the war between people and class (race) began to heat up and now it is the black community vs. the white community” as the Marxist and atheist view of history is advanced (not the providential view of history) especially in the universities and colleges.

“The story of hope is in Christ alone, scripture alone, faith alone, grace alone…not in the theology of compromise to secular humanism.”

Some “100 countries have copied our (U.S.) Constitution.  The nations of the world are crying for liberty.  We need to do it (go) God’s way and turn away from statism (the belief that the state should control either economic or social policy, or both, to some degree.   This idea gained significant usage in American political discourse throughout the 1930s and 1940s).

    Patrice Tsague

Patrice Tsague:  “God has given each of us talents”

“God has given each of us talents in the form of gifts, skills and treasures based on our abilities,” said Patrice Tsague as he described 12 Principles of God’s Economy (based on Matthew 25:14-46) and which is also outlined in his book “Biblical Principles for Starting & Operating a Business” taken from The Biblical Entrepreneurship Marketplace Series.

“As Biblical Entrepreneurs, we are required to assess situations and make responsible judgments for which we are accountable to God” said Tsague who challenged the audience to take the “risk” of starting a business to fund kingdom projects.

Tsague, born in Cameroon, Central Africa to a mother who was a member of Parliament and who had operated several businesses and at one time employed over 1,000 people, decided he would go into business himself while living in the United States.

Tsague started the Nehemiah Project and Kingdom Business Coaching which now has trained over 20,000 entrepreneurs in 38 countries.

Dran Reese:  “Our battle field is the government—the new mission field”

“Our battle field is the government—the new mission field,” said Salt and Light Council President Dran Reese.

“Salt and Light is about training and equipping churches to preserve our culture through Biblical Citizenship” with a ministry brochure entitled “Power of the Pulpit” stating:   “working together to restore our nation’s biblical and moral foundations” through a PETER concept:  Pray, Educate, Take Action, Elections, and Restoration.

“As Americans, we have a God-given commission to be involved in all sectors of society in order to preserve our heritage, our freedoms, and our Christian values for the next generation.

At the ministry table, a Biblical Voter guide compared the 2018 party platforms of the Republicans, Democrats, and Libertarians in regards to:  Life and Abortion, marriage, religious freedom, the 2nd Amendment, support for Israel, and climate change and use of U.S. Energy resources.

“We are engaged in the war for our children’s mind,” said Reese. “Comprehensive Sex Education is child abuse and porn in comic form.”
