Oxnard–Carjacking, victim threatened with deadly weapon

taxiJust after midnight Saturday morning officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the corner of Juanita Avenue and First Street with reports of a carjacking. The victim told officers that he was called to the area to pick up an acquaintance. When he arrived at the intersection, he was confronted by an Hispanic male between 18 and 19 years old wearing a checkered shirt with a hoodie in possession of gun or knife.  The suspect pointed either a knife or gun at him and told him to get out of the vehicle. The cab driver surrendered his vehicle, at which time, the suspect and the female acquaintance, also Hispanic, fled in the vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle unoccupied in the 4400 Block of Frost Drive. It was recovered for further investigation.

There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
