    Oxnard | Firearm arrest/ Parole Violation

    On 11/17/20, at around 12:11 AM, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle being driven erratically near the intersection of Third Street and Rose Avenue. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 500 block of S. Rose Avenue. The vehicle was occupied by the driver, Gerald Silva (age 25) and an adult female passenger (age 22). Silva is on parole. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded .40 caliber handgun in the glove compartment. Silva was subsequently arrested for various felony firearm related charges including being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. The unidentified female passenger provided officers with false information about identity. She was later found to be on probation and subsequently arrested for a misdemeanor charge of providing false information to officers.
