Oxnard High School Student Protests

On November 10, 2016, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., students from Pacifica High School, Hueneme High School, and Channel Islands High School walked out of school in protest of the recent national election.  Officers from the Oxnard Police Department assisted with traffic control to ensure the safety of the students and that there was minimal impact to motorists in the area. 
 
The protests were peaceful and there were no arrests or property damage.
 
Assistance was also provided by the Oxnard College Police Department, the Port Hueneme Police Department, the Oxnard Union High School District, the Oxnard Fire Department, and Gold Coast Paramedics.
 
Officers monitored all the high schools after school.
